Christie Announces His Budget Proposal
The governor called his proposals “a new course” that would mean less government spending and will bring “spending in line with revenues,” especially at the local level. He noted that more than one half of what the state spends is sent to local governments. And spending at the local level has risen 69 percent since 2001.
